The outlook for the next two weeks, at the moment, is expected to be mostly dry, warm and sunny. High pressure will be building from the south of the UK, bringing a prolonged settled spell of weather which may last into the beginning of May. This is likely to result with a warm but dry feed of air from the nearby continent, meaning that daytime temperatures will peak daily around 20°C, with lengthy sunny spells.
Through this week temperatures will climb a degree or so higher day-by-day, and there will be very little, if any, rainfall. There may be a little more cloud around, and perhaps some rain, for this coming weekend, but with High pressure firmly in control as we head into next week, the summery weather is expected to continue - perfect for an evening barbeque!
However, mist and low cloud is likely to drift in from the North Sea during overnight periods, and may linger close to the coasts during the daytime so there may be a rather chilly onshore breeze if you're heading to the coast this week.
So far this month, April 2009 has been above average in terms of temperature, but with well-below average rainfall and also ground frosts surprisingly. |
