Understanding the forecasts
This map, available on the home page, displays the forecast predominant weather conditions and maximum temperatures expected across Kent and East Sussex for today. On rare occasions, where the website cannot be updated, this map may display the previous day's forecast instead. The local 5-day forecasts should be consulted on these occasions since these are updated everyday. An orange warning graphic is displayed in the top-right corner of this box when a Weather Warning has been issued - the warnings page can be accessed by clicking on this graphic.
The Detailed Forecast box is available on the home page and provides a text summary of the expected weather conditions over the next 5 days. The forecast here should be used as the most relevant, accurate and up-to-date of all of the output available on the site. This is usually updated once a day, at the same time as the Today's Weather box. This text summary is also available on the Mobile version of the site.
To access the local 5-day forecast, simply click any of the red markers on the Weald of Kent region map. Each marker has it's corresponding place name printed as close to it as possible. The 5-day forecast may take a few seconds to download the data, but when completed will load in a separate box below the map.
