| Long-range forecasts are a developing area of meteorology which are likely to be much less accurate than our short-term forecasts. However, they can give a reasonable indication as to the overall weather conditions expected in the forthcoming months. |
| We produce monthly and seasonal forecasts at regular intervals. Once each month and season is complete, we then compare our long-range forecasts with the actual weather conditions to highlight the strengths and weaknesses in the original forecast, which then helps us improve the accuracy of future forecasts. |
